Please Join Us!

Membership is open to anyone and everyone with an interest in Ghana and Ghanaian Culture.  You do not need to be Ghanaian to become an active member.  GHASO welcomes Ghana-enthusiasts be they, former Peace Corp members, individuals who operate business or non-profit organizations in Ghana, those who have visited Ghana, and even those who have never been but would like to expand their cultural horizons by being a member of the Association.

Members are encouraged to pay their annual dues by January 1st of each year, but are accepted at any time one wishes to formally join the Association.  Dues are used to develop programming and support services for our members and the broader community throughout Oregon.  Members that wish to pay more than the annual dues in support of the Association are welcome and encouraged to do so.  Please note that such generous contributions will be accepted and appreciated without conferring any special privileges (expressed or implied). Membership Types

The current dues as decided upon by the General Assembly of the GHASO are $75.00 for Adults (18 years or older – Ghanaian or Ghana Enthusiast); and $25 for students (18 years or older with a valid student ID – Ghanaian Student or Ghana Enthusiast Student).  Those under 18 years of age are considered members after their parents/guardians are registered with the Association.  When you elect to pay your dues below, please choose the category that best suits your needs.  We have the following membership types available.:

Ghanaian MemberThis is a general membership category for those with Ghanaian ancestry.  You must be 18 years of age or older to attain this membership status.  Those under 18 years of age are considered members after their parents/guardians are registered with the Association.
Ghana Enthusiast MemberThis is a general membership category for those who may not have lineage in Ghana, but have an interest in Ghana none-the-less.  Examples of individuals who might fit this category may be, former or active Peace Corps Volunteers, spouses of a Ghanaian, parents of children adopted from Ghana, those who currently have or interested in starting businesses or non-profits in Ghana, those who have visited the country, those who have not visited, but have an interest.  You must be 18 years of age or older to attain this membership status.  Those under 18 years of age are considered members after their parents/guardians are registered with the Association.
Ghanaian Student MemberThis is a student category of GHASO membership for those with Ghanaian ancestry and are also current students in high school or college.  You must be 18 years of age or older to attain this membership status. Those under 18 years of age are considered members after their parents/guardians are registered with the Association.
Ghana Enthusiast Student MemberThis is a student category of GHASO membership for those who may not have lineage in Ghana, but have an interest in Ghana none-the-less and are also current students in high school or college.  You must be 18 years of age or older to attain this membership status. Those under 18 years of age are considered members after their parents/guardians are registered with the Association.

How to pay membership dues:

Step 1: Complete this Membership Registration Form and e-mail a copy to Ghanaoregon@gmail.com
Step 2: The preferred method for paying dues is via PayPal.  Choose the membership type below and click on the “Buy Now” button.  Be sure to include your full name in the “notes to seller” option. You will receive a PayPal Receipt via e-mail.
In lieu of paying online, dues are accepted at General Meetings and GHASO Events.
